CNC ROUTING

Our high performance CNC routers are equipped with the latest technologies like Camera i-cut, drag knife & automatic tool changer. They are used to custom cut, carve and shape in 2D or 3D a broad range of materials, from wood to metals, HDU foam to acrylics, the possibilities are limitless.

LASER CUTTING & ENGRAVING

Our laser machines are mainly used to cut, etch or mark materials like wood, cork, glass or acrylic. 

ETCHING

The process of “Etching” always gives a unique and high end feel to any glass or metal signs (such as brass, bronze, stainless steel or aluminum).

SANDBLASTING

Sandblasted signs have been around for the longest time and seem to never age. They have so many applications, from park entrances to lobby signs, from golf course to resorts, all of them being unique! They can be done with a variety of materials such as wood, HDU, stone, metals or glass!

PAINTING, SPECIAL FINISHES & FAUX FINISHES

We have 2 large paint booths where letters, signs or frames are being painted, died and clearcoated. Colors are matched using a computerized color matching system allowing custom colors as Pantone colors (or others) to be created with ease and accuracy. Additionally our highly skilled painters, protected in their safety gears, can create beautiful faux finishes, patinas, rust or metallic flares. 

DIGITAL PRINTING

At SFY we are using two large format Mimaki printers. The applications of this technique are endless as it can be used by itself or mixed with other technologies. Various media can be used depending on your needs, ranging from adhesive vinyl (opaque, optically clear or textured) to banners or artistic canvas, or from posters to magnetic media. All our prints are protected with their corresponding lamination for both indoor and outdoor applications.

VINYL WORK

Computer-cut vinyl has an array of usages that range from shop windows & glass applications, to fleet & vehicle branding. Wall graphics can often be complemented with vinyl lettering in an original way. Specialty vinyls such as frosted or dichroic vinyl for example make a great choice for offices or retails. Options are endless and are worth looking into.  Where budget is limited, vinyl work also offers a cost-effective way to create a temporary identity (sometimes not that temporary…) that can still look sexy!

MILLWORK & WOODWORKING

We work with wood and hardwood to create signs and sign accents, displays or pieces of furniture taylored to your needs. We also make full size mock-ups of staterooms for the cruise line industry.

MOLDING & CASTING

One of our forte is to create a mold and cast it in a variety of materials ranging from resin to plaster and stone. Whether the cast is used as the shape of the sign itself or a design element on a sign, it always adds a unique, refined or fun touch. Coupled with excellent faux finishes, the result is absolutely outstanding!

LED ILLUMINATED SIGNAGE & DISPLAYS

We use UL approved LEDs to illuminate a variety of signs, such as individual letters, illuminated boxes, sign glass panels or faux neons.   The type of applications (outdoor, indoor, beachfront, …)  will determine the type of LEDs that will be required. At SFY we are mindful of regulations concerning wildlife conservation, and use sea turtle freindly lighting for all approved beachfront and boardwalk signage.

POLYMER EXPOSURE
& OTHER ADA COMPLIANT TECHNIQUES

For the ADA compliant signage, we use various technique.  One of the most common is the Polymer Exposure, such as photopolymer or nova polymer. Other techniques achieve the tactile letters and braille as well, among them is the appliqué method with raster beading, acid etch or sandblasting, depending on the material that best fit your project. All of these are very effective and reliable for compliance purposes while still leaving a design freedom flexibility.

WELDING

Our professional welders have the capability of welding aluminum, stainless steel, steel & bronze to create pylons, monument signs as well as smaller signage.  Welding offers an array of design accent possibilities giving even to simple posts a custom touch.

EXHIBIT SYSTEMS:
EXTRUSIONS, HANGING AND CABLING

At SFY, we make our own custom extrusions and mounting systems.  However, many applications such as trade show booths, graphic displays, temporary museum or educational exhibits call for the use of more standard and cost effective exhibit systems.  Anodized modular extrusions, cables or rod display systems are lightweight and easy to handle, and they offer easy changeable strategies to rotate or update graphics.  Although modular, they allow for a large array of creativity.
